The story of Real Token Games goes as far back as 2010, back then it was only fool's dream. One such fool named Loet (pronounced Loot) set out to start a gaming company with his life partner Karen. The plan was that Loet will do the development work and Karen will handle the branding and marketing. Loet being the 0's and 1's person and Karen being the people's person. The plan sounded solid and rad. The passion was there - it was the making and beginning of the dream. But alas, dreams must always have challenges so as to test the might and perseverance of the strongest heroes. So what could possible be this challenge for this brilliant plan you might ask. The LOCATION! Oh yes that was the the challenge for these adventurers setting out on their journey from no other place but the deep dark AFRICA. More specifically South-Africa, but to keep the story simple we will from here forth speak of AFRICA (when we are actually talking about the small southern country of Africa).
Africa had it's challenges alright, Loet and Karen had to fend off lions, rhinos, crocodiles, the sun and even mosquitoes. It was a hard life to code on an old milk carton cut-out of an Apple Mac computer, but they made it work with sheer will and determination. The best documentation they could find to help on their quest was scribbled drawings on rocks, but they used what they could. While Loet was deciphering rock paintings and working on the milk carton, Karen was using her people skills to let people know of Real Token Games. She would walk 5 miles/feet/leagues/km to the nearest mountain top and start shouting our cause so that the people of all the villages will know who we are.
There was however another problem in the wake. Sending our game to the USA. Loet and Karen called a village meeting and got their best stock that they had to trade. They then set about to hire the strongest pigeon they could find. Decades passed, because there is no daylight savings time in South Africa and time moves faster here. At the very end of their hope, hanging on but a thread they found the perfect pigeon. The pigeon was named !XolamX!opi!!xXx!! which translates to "Fly" in one of Africa's long forgotten ancient languages. With their journey reaching its end, Loet and Karen sent their app with the pigeon to Apple for a review. Long and hot summers went by (Africa does not have winters), and then finally !XolamX!opi!!xXx!! came back with a message "App in review". That is when our heroes realised that they have succeeded, they have overcome all obstacles that life, Africa and the animals had thrown at them and that is the true story now found on an obscure rock drawing hidden in the Drakensberg about how Real Token Games came to be.
